Yom HaShoah Rally

At 10:00 Am on Sunday April 18, 2004 students and faculty of Rambam Mesivta High School rallied against the Lithuanian government in front of the Lithuanian Consulate in New York City. This day was chosen to rally because it wasYom Hashoah also known as “Holocaust Memorial Day.”

The rally was organized in order to bring attention to the fact that the Lithuanian government has yet to put on trial even one of the twelve Nazi war criminals extradited from the U.S. to Lithuania.

Specific attention was focused on Vladas Zajanckauskas, who is a current resident of Millbury, Massachusetts. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Zajanckauskas “actively participated in the notorious operation to clear and destroy the Warsaw Ghetto” and also “trained other men who carried out the liquidation.” (More...)


Yom HaZikaron Program

On Sunday April 25, 4 Iyar, parents, teachers and students from Rambam Mesivta commemorated Israel's Memorial Day at Rambam Mesivta High School.

The special guest speaker for the one-hour event was Mr. Tuvia Book, the Director of Israel and Zionist Education for the Jewish Agency and the BJE.

Mr. Book related his first-hand experiences as a veteran of Sayeret Givati, the Israeli commando unit, and presented an audio-video program.

Rabbi Yotav Eliach, Principal of Rambam Mesivta High School, also spoke at the event. Rabbi Eliach is a veteran of the Israeli armed forces and spends summers volunteering in the Israeli military.


Rabbi Hesh Reichman, Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshivas Rabbenu Yitzchak Elchanon gave a shiur on the Halachik analysis of Sefiras Ha'Omer as part of our ongoing Adult Education Series on Tuesday nights. (Click here for schedule..)

Self-Defense

Lt. Yoni Zagdanski has been putting some Rambam students through their paces in his ongoing self-defense and fitness seminars. Zagdanski, an Orthodox Jew from Far Rockaway, is a member of the U.S. Armed Forces.
