Eight Rambam Students Qualify for National Merit Scholarship Program

Eight Rambam students have qualified for the 2006 National Merit Scholarship Program. Each of the students is among the 50,000 highest-scoring participants of some 1.3 million program entrants.

The eight Rambam honorees represent an astounding 17 % of the junior class so honored compared with 3.8 % of all student entrants nationwide.

"For a school of our size, to have eight students out of our 47 member junior class so honored is outstanding," said Rambam Principal Rabbi Yotav Eliach. "We are very proud of each of these young men."

The eight honorees are (from left to right in photo): Avishai Fuss, Jonathan Ziring, Michael Pisem, Raffi Holzer, Joshua Bloom, Mark Stauber, Naftali Gluck, and Jonathan Fruhman.

Soccer

The Rambam Soccer team picked up its first win of the season on Tuesday, May 3rd by defeating Davis Renov Stahler (DRS) 7-5.

The victory reverses a previous loss to DRS earlier in the year and shows improvement in the team's performance over the course of this season.

"I joined the team this year as a freshman along with some of my friends," said freshman Isaac Ben-Simhon. "So I think this game shows we're learning to play together better now as teammates."

Softball
The Rambam softball team lost both ends of a double-header 5-0 and 12-6 to the Davis Renov Stahler (DRS) on Friday, May 6th.
