Rocks at Camp Morasha
Camp Morasha became Camp Rambam this week as the talmidim enjoyed
two days of well-deserved recreation in the picturesque
Pocono
Mountains before the big push for finals.
Virtually the entire student body joined the trip, many of
whom came from sleepovers with friends the night before.
The boys arrived early Tuesday morning May
17th, davened, some vaiskin,
and then departed on luxurious coach busses to the camp. There
the boys spent
two glorious
days of sunshine playing sports, eating good food, davening and
learning with
one
another
in a beautiful setting on the shores of Lake Como. (Read

Goodman Gives Lessons in Emunah and B-Ball
Isareli basketball league star Tamir Goodman told his dramatic
personal story and gave a basketball demonstration
before the Rambam talmidim on Wednesday, May 11, 2005.
Goodman, known as the "Jewish Jordan" has gained fame by being
the only religious Jew
to play professional basketball in Israel.
Goodman's career as a basketball player began
at age six when he was introduced to the game by
his older brother, Reuven. After spending most of his free time
learning and playing the game as a child, Goodman became a nationally
recognized star in high school. He was recruited by numerous universities
and offered a full scholarship by the University of Maryland, but
there was a catch: to accept the scholarship, he would have to play
on Shabbos...

| Artifacts
of Jewish History |
Mr.
Joel Berkowitz presented some fascinating artifacts of Jewish
history to the boys in Rabbi Baruch Gopin 's Jewish History class
on Monday,
May 16th.
Mr. Berkowitz presented a fascinating history lesson on Medieval
Jewish History with artifacts including antique coins and ancient
documents
from the destruction of the Bais Miktash.
He also presented a fascinating history of "blood
libel," in
which Chistians accused Jews of using the blood of Christian children
to make their
wine and matzohs during Pesach. Mr. Berkowitz 's presentation helped
to make this history come alive for the students. Awesome! |
