RAMBAM GOES
ALL OUT WITH CHANUKAH CELEBRATIONS
What a week! Machon HaTorah put out all the stops this
week with school-wide Chanukah celebrations at Rambam.
Rambam's talmidim enjoyed a kick-off chagiga,
latkes and sufganiyot at the home of the Rosh HaYeshiva, and
a trip to Aviator Sports.
It all started with the sounds of The Nochi Krohn Band coming
from below, which was quickly followed by the sound of Rambam’s
talmidim flying down the stairs and charging into the Beit Midrash
to kick off a week of Chanukah celebrations at Rambam.
The talmidim got into the swing of things very quickly and within
minutes were dancing and singing together and with their rebbeim.
As always, Rambam’s talmidim were filled with ruach, swinging
one another around with all their energies for almost two hours.

But, the celebrations didn’t end there, not by a long shot.
Wednesday's events began by bringing some of the Chanukah spirit
to others with a group of students who visited Long Island Living
Center.
Then, throughout the afternoon, classes visited Rabbi Friedman’s
home for divrei Torah, latkes, sufganiyot and a fairly competitive
game of dreidel, considering the prize for gimmel spinners was
a tempting bowlful of ice cream.
Food and fun was followed by some singing and dancing on Rabbi
Friedman’s front lawn.
Thursday breakfast for seniors was served at Rabbi Friedman's
house before the day's programming began.
With donuts to fortify them for the long drive to Brooklyn, students
loaded onto busses for a day of fun at Aviator Sports.
Students enjoyed ice skating, football, basketball and a day of
relaxing together as Chanukah comes to an end.
FRIDAY TISCH GETS STUDENTS IN THE CHANUKAH SPIRIT
It started out like any other Rambam tisch—fantastic divrei
Torah, lots of eating, relaxed schmoozing, enthusiastic singing--but
this past Friday’s tisch achieved a new level as the talmidim
spilled into the hallways, singing and dancing and filling the
school with pre-Chanukah ruach.
RAMBAM OFFERS SAT PREP COURSE
The response was immediate. Within three days of offering sign-up
for Professor Sinclair’s SAT prep course for 11th graders,
to begin in February, the class had been filled. Students are eager
to begin their preparations and are clearly determined to excel.
Best of luck!
Thank you to the Women’s League for sponsoring Tuesday’s
coffee and donuts for the Rambam faculty.
