We
had two tasks in the hospital. One was working in
the various warehouses. There, we built shelves,
unpacked and ordered supplies, loaded forklifts, and
cleaned out the dated supplies to make room for new
ones. The work in the warehouses was very hard but
we
all worked together and enjoyed the challenge of helping.
It also was very satisfying, because we completed many
jobs,
and
we
could see the difference we made.
The other jobs we had was
helping the staff of the
departments in the hospital. We served meals, made
beds, ran blood samples to the labs, answered phones,
and dealt with patients' general needs. Stephen
Burg and
Yehoshua Konig also brought their
guitars to cheer up
the children in the Pediatric Ward. The staff was very
glad we came because we provided a much needed extra
pair of hands.
After we finished our work at the hospital, we
went to various post- high school yeshivot and participated
in some great shiuriim and got a sense of what each
yeshiva
was like. The trip was truly a spritual
and fullfilling experience which I will never forget. |
