Goals of Limudei Kodesh Program:
The Limudei Kodesh curriculum of the Rambam Mesivta is designed to:
- Provide talmidim with the skills to learn in depth on their own;
- Imbue talmidim with a love of learning that will result in a lifelong commitment;
- Teach talmidim to approach life from the framework of Torah and incorporate Torah into every day living;
- Develop within the talmid a sense of responsibility towards others and towards the community; and
- Promote Ahavas Yisroel and Ahavas Eretz Yisroel.
The Limudei Kodesh program is designed to produce a Ben Torah who approaches all aspects of life from a Torah framework. First
and foremost, a love of learning is fostered by showing talmidim the ‘conceptual’ beauty of Torah. Questions are encouraged and
are used as a springboard to deal with ‘real life’ issues from a Torah perspective. A close Rebbe/Talmid relationship, both during
regular school hours as well as after hours’ activities, ensures the optimal intellectual/character development of each individual
talmid. Midos, sensitivity and concern for others is a constant theme at Rambam. Talmidim are taught to go out and ‘do’, not just
‘talk’ about helping others.
A great deal of emphasis is placed on developing within the talmid the ability to master the tools of independent Torah study
and realize his full potential for living the life of a Torah Jew. The program provides the talmid with all practical skills (reading,
translating and researching the classical sources) and hones his reasoning abilities, thus enabling him to extrapolate and apply
Halachic/Torah principles to life situations. The eventual outgrowth of the program is to produce a talmid whose knowledge of
vru, expresses itself in a deep appreciation of Ahavas Yisroel and Ahavas Eretz Yisroel.
