HaKaras
HaTov (cont...) (BACK
TO NEWSLETTER) "These
past few days the young men of Rambam Mesivta High
School have made a difference in the lives of those
who serve and protect our great nation,” said
Captain Yoni Zagdanski- an orthodox
member of the fighting force currently stationed
in New Jersey. “These
young men have prepared and shipped hundreds of
care packages to our brave soldiers involved in
Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
“As a soldier who has spent months in Iraq,
I can tell you that mail and care packages are
what keep us going and fighting. It is a tremendous
feeling to know that our fellow Americans approve
and support our cause. G-d bless the men of Rambam
Mesivta and the American people."
“Responsibility to the community at large
is a core value that we always emphasize to our
talmidim,” said Rosh HaMesivta, Rabbi Zev
Meir Friedman. “Students realize how the
activities of a few can make a big difference,
and how much a handful of people can accomplish.”
Rabbi Yotav Eliach echoed this
sentiment by stating: “We
are fortunate to live in the U.S. and have the
responsibility to show our thanks and appreciation
even – actually davka- when others don’t.
We teach the boys to stand up and lead instead
of staying home and being passive.”
Students eagerly await to hear details of Pesach ’05
on the front lines from their new pen pals.
