I am often asked, “Why did you want to become a School Psychologist?” My natural reply is always - “I enjoy being in a school environment and helping students, whether it be in assisting them with studying techniques or in other areas of their life. I like collaborating with teachers and parents as well.” While working at Rambam it has become clear to me that knowledge of one’s profession is only one- and perhaps not the most important -factor to one’s success. Rather, it is the untaught interpersonal and communication skills that distinguish a good educator/psychologist from a great one. At Rambam, the warmth and academic excellence is apparent to students and faculty alike. It is a pleasure working in an environment that not only accepts individual differences, but values and respects them. Additionally, I serve as the Rambam- district liaison, to make sure that students’ needs, their modifications and accommodations, are being met.
